Marriage, a calling also

I am getting married!!!

Yeah. One moment am super excited 💃💃💃 and then the next, I feel like saying ‘OK people, let’s stop here, I don’t want any change in my life, can things still be the same? Oh my gosh’. 😬 Am I alone in this? Ever felt so as the day of your wedding drew closer?

Maybe some people will say they never felt that way at all, in fact maybe they looked forward to their wedding day with so much enthusiasm and didn’t have any cold feet. Well, am happy for you.

Why am I having cold feet? I had to ask my self. Am I being selfish or short sighted? Am I loosing sight of the reason for my marriage? These questions and more crossed my mind.

My friend the Holy Spirit brought some answers that eased my fears and that’s what I want to share with you today.

You see, there’s this notion that some ladies who were actively doing ministry, I mean preaching and winning souls with passion suddenly become cold after getting married. Then people ask why, what happened to all their fire and passion they demonstrated when they were single ladies.
You see, I don’t want anything like that to happen to me, thanks to God who brought light to me on the matter. Follow me😃.

It’s a calling

First, you must understand that marriage is a calling, it’s a ministry! The problem some ladies have sometimes is that they think marriage is separate from their service to God. They think ‘this is different ‘. Another group will think ‘we have served God when we are single, now let me relax and face my marriage’, another group become very overwhelmed with the excitement, preparations and attention from everyone. You know, everyone starts looking at you as the bride other a lot of woooows and hooooooo. Enjoy it while it last but don’t forget why you are going through that phase…

It’s a platform

to do ministry effectively and efficiently. Ofcourse, scripture says two are better than one and they have a better reward for their labour.

Am going to stop here, will continue to share my experiences as the journey begins.

Stay at the top! I love you !

I know that the excitement that comes with the new year is probably ebbing little by little. You are are beginning to wonder where all that giddy feeling has gone. For some, they are back to the reality of their lives. The feeling is mutual lol. 😀

On my previous post, I started talking about goal setting as one of the tools that will keep you focused this year, remember we don’t work by feelings but by knowledge. I promised to write on how to set goals and factors that can help you accomplish your goals, So here we go…

It is not enough to set goals to so you can feel good or be among those who know what’s up. Goals without a means or strategy to fulfill them are a waste of time. So when you set goals in these areas of your life, make sure that you also write down the strategy you would use in achieving those goals. One of the methods which some people call the characteristics of a goal is the acronym SMART which stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable / Achievable, Realistic and Time bound. Your goals should meet these criteria.

I will highlight on just three factors that can help you accomplish your goals these year.

  • The God Factor – really you can’t do without this factor as a child of God.

Proverbs 16:3, 9 says “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.

“In his heart a man plans his course but the Lord determines his steps”

  • Accountability – don’t be that fellow that has no mentor or anyone to hold him accountable for the goals you have set. Don’t be that person who has nobody to ask him about the goals he has set for himself. Get people who will able make you be on your toes in achieving your goals. Get a mentor or a discipler.

Proverbs 15:22 says ” plans fail for lack of counsel but with many advisers they succeed. “

  • Self discipline – this is one quality you must work at if you must achieve much this year. The ability to do what you are supposed to do when you should do it no matter the excuse that you want to come up with. Pursuit is the evidence of desire. you can’t tell me who want something and I can’t see the discipline of pursuit – how you task yourself and push yourself and accept no excuse from yourself.

I wish you a very fulfilling year. I know all the prayers you have made are answered but you have a responsibility.

Stay at the top! I love you !!

Happy New Year! Happy New Year!! Rang in the air with screams, dance and shouts of fireworks. The environment was electrifying with everyone happy including you. You were happy and grateful to see the New Year 2019. The 19th year of the 21st century! I say to you also, welcome to the New Year.
You probably shouted the happy new year in church just like I did with prayer to our God and keeper to guide us and help us in the coming year. Guess what, he has heard and answered. In fact before you went to pray for the new year, as His child, he has made everything you need for the new year and every day of your life available. 2 Peter 1:3 says

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called is by his own glory and goodness.”

So you see, as God’s child, God has got your back. What then should you do as someone who God has plans for? God has plans for you in this new year just as Jeremiah 29: 11 tells us but what is your responsibility towards yourself in the new year? I know you also have plans, goals and ambitions for yourself, you want this year to be better than the last, you want results, you want success. How do you achieve this? I will tell you, just read on. I know you need this.

Yes you heard me right. This is one of the keys God expects you to use to achieve success this year. I am not talking about New Year resolutions. I know about new year resolutions that never crosses into the second month of the year. I used to have that every new year until I discovered what I was doing wrong.
Goal setting is the development of an action plan designed to motivate and guide a person or group toward a goal.

Why should I plan since God knows all things? First, Planning is God’s plan. We should plan our lives according to God’s will. It’s a responsibility you owe yourself in order to fulfill the plans of God for your life, Genesis 1: 26 – 28.

Proverbs 16: 1 says “To man belong the plans of the heart, but from God comes the reply of the tongue”. God expects you to plan!

Secondly, the execution of the plan God has for you belongs to you. When we pray we download God’s plans that has always been there Jeremiah 1: 5. So you set your goals and plans according to God’s plans for your life.

You are here on earth on assignment! God didn’t place you on earth to waste time. Every area of your life should be geared towards achieving that ultimate goal, Genesis 1: 26 – 28. I trust you know that your dream to be the best Doctor, Fashion Designer, Music Artist, Actress, Teacher, Banker, Artist, Lawyer, Engineer, etc. is in order to achieve the Genesis 1:28 assignments. So you must set goals for every area of your life such as;

Faith – this includes your spiritual life and it’s the foundation of every other area
Future – this includes those goals that will help your long term goals come to pass.
Fitness – you have a body and a mind that needs to keep fit. Exercise your mind and body.
Finance – financial goals, plan for your income and how you intend to spend it.
Facts or career – plan for the job you do, how you intend to be better at what you do.
Friends – company is very important to destiny fulfillment. Is your network helping you fulfill your destiny? If not, do the needful.
Family – you are a very important part of a body, both spiritual and biological family, how do you intend to spend time and resources with them and contribute to their growth.

In my next post, am going to talk about how to set goals and factors that can help you accomplish your goals.

Remain blessed and I love you. Keep reading!!
